SEEDIG 7 Series: Your 2021 Digital Agenda
The South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG) marks its seventh anniversary with seven events to be held throughout 2021. The SEEDIG 7 Series will feature keynote speeches by prominent digital and technology experts, followed by interactive community discussions and networking sessions.
The first event of the SEEDIG 7 Series was held on 21 June 2021 under the overarching theme "Internet in your native language: Universal Acceptance". Universal Acceptance continues to be one of the most decisive concepts for the future of the Internet. According to the UN, by the end of 2030, the world economy will face another three billion new Internet users. The majority of them will be using non-Latin scripts. Therefore, Universal Acceptance is aimed to make the online environment more inclusive and barrierless for everyone.
The event was organised in partnership with the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation – RNIDS and with Tech partner - DiploFoundation. The meeting brought together community members, governmental representatives and DNS experts to brainstorm how to further advance Universal Acceptance in the SEE+ region.
The South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG) is an open, inclusive and informal space for dialogue and cooperation on Internet and digital policy issues between stakeholders from South Eastern Europe and the neighbouring area (SEE+). SEEDIG was launched in a bottom-up manner, in 2014, as a response to a need, as perceived by the regional Internet community, for a platform to facilitate discussions and collaboration on Internet-related issues of relevance for the region.
